The chef here goes for a restrained fusion style between japanese, french, and chinese that just does it for me. Anything you try will be good.
For a cheaper menu, go there for lunch rather than dinner. -

I liked the mapotofu with spinach i had. It's a little diff than what i'm used to in the states or what the chinese makes but a good diff! do try this place as you will be pleasantly surprised

Japanese style Chinese food. Everything here is about 30% less salty, spicy or oily than the Chinese equivalent. Conversely, everything is probably 30% healthier as well.
That being said. Everything is well prepared and tasty. Ordered the water cress, bok Chou, sweet and sour soup, pepper beef, jellyfish salad, and shrimp tempura. All dishes were well done, only slight complaint would be that the beef dish was a little tough.
Service is great here. The staff is prompt and polite. Much better than the average Chinese restaurant. overall would come here again if I was in the area. -

Ebis is more of a Chinese restaurant than Japanese. Many reviews were low because I think many of them were caught by surprise that this is categorized as Japanese. The owner is very nice from Taiwan and his wife is from Japan. So there, no more confusion...LOL However, we were invited and knew this was Chinese/Taiwanese style so...no surprises here! Actually, the food is very tasty, and we are from Los Angeles where San Gabriel Valley has the most densely populated Chinese in the world outside of Asian continent (according to time manazine!!!) Of course now I am biased that I know LA has the best Chinese food in the world (lol because the best chefs in Asia all pretty much immigrated to Los Angeles and opened their own restaurants to get their green cards to become U.S. citizens!!! haha). So yes Ebis has excellent dishes. We ordered the lobster, fried rice, bok choy, beef tar tar (not so authentic Chinese but very delish!), fried calamari and for dessert....Shin Ren Tofu (different than the original taste because it has cream in it....also very delish!!). All and all, the experience was great, the place is small and always packed (they must have done something right!! lol) Please please make a reservation. We did and were seated right away!! Will def come back next time when we visit Paris!!
Oh, so why 4 not 5 stars, you asked? It is on the pricier side, so 5 down to 4 stars. But hey, you get what you pay for here!! -

Solid Asian food option if you want something quick after leaving the Louvre. The food was fresh and filling.
